HOT DIP GALVANIZINGHot dip galvanzing applies to dipping chemically cleaned fabricated steel into molten zinc. Fabricated steel are chemically cleaned of all surface contamination such as dirt, mill scales, rust, oil and grease in a series of chemical tanks. Some of these tanks such as the caustic solution are actually heated to help remove oil and grease quickly. The main chemical used in the removal of other contaminants such as rust and mill scales is diluted hydrochloric acid. The cleaned fabricated steel is then fluxed in a heated solution of zinc ammonia chloride then dried before dipping into a pot of molten zinc. This gives rise to the galvanized products coated with a series of metallurgically formed zinc-iron alloy layers. These zinc-iron alloy varies in hardness and provide the durable coating against corrosion.
